What Are The Symptoms Of Iliotibial Band Syndrome?

Buttock Tenderness

Most patients seem to experience knee symptoms with this condition. However, it may also result in problems around the top of the connective tissue. These problems seem to occur for the same reason as the others, which is a tight iliotibial band. The tight band appears to trigger friction against the hip as the patient moves. Prolonged friction here may result in hip and buttock tenderness. However, the tenderness seems to occur only on one side. This may be because patients have two iliotibial bands, with one on each leg. Thus, they should only feel buttock tenderness on the side of the affected band.
